Projects involving site work require a current plat of survey to be submitted with the permit application. Projects such as replacement of an existing driveway, sidewalk or patio will require a plat of survey that is accurate (depicting all current improvements on the property) can be submitted with a signed and notarized affidavit. Projects that add 50 square feet or more of lot coverage require a current survey (within one year of permit application). The plat of survey must be full size (and to scale) signed and stamped by a land surveyor licensed in Illinois.
Be advised that review times for permit submittals are a minimum of 10 working days. Larger projects such as home additions, new homes, industrial or commercial projects may take up to 20 days to review. The applicant will be notified via email or phone once the review has been completed.
