Senior/Disabled Snow Removal Assistance Program
The City of Wood Dale is pleased to announce the return of the Senior/Disabled Snow Removal Assistance Program.
Snow removal will be performed by a private contractor, at the direction of City staff, when two or more inches of snow have fallen at minimum after a storm. This program will be available at a subsidized cost to those who qualify.
Program cost:
- Corner lot with sidewalk - $25.00
- Lot with sidewalk - $20.00
- Lot with no sidewalk - $15.00
Program services:
Snow Removal. Removal of snow from hardscape at the front, or side (if corner property), of the property.
No Salting. No salting or deicer will be used.
Snow plowing of driveways and shoveling of sidewalks will occur after two (2) or more inches of snow has fallen. The City shall, in its sole discretion, determine when two (2) inches or more has fallen. Participants should expect snow removal to be completed within 12 hours after the end of a snowfall. In the event that there is heavy accumulation, and the contractor has to make repeated trips, it will result in further charges for those services.
Being a participant of the snow removal program we request that no one but the contractor is to remove snow (family, neighbors, etc.). This will alleviate any confusion for billing purposes. Failure to comply may be cause for charges to the account and removal from the program.
This program does not include shoveling in backyard areas.
Disabled Program Requirements:
- Applicant must provide a copy of Secretary of State Disability placard or other proof of disability
- Applicant must provide proof of property ownership (a copy of most recent tax bill)
- Applicant annual income must be less than $65,000 (a copy of latest income tax return)
- Applicant must confirm that no other able person in the household is able to remove the snow
