The City will be replacing, via open trench excavation, the watermain along Addison Road between Irving Park Road and Potter Street beginning in Spring 2025. Alterations to traffic patterns and temporary service disruptions will occur. More details will be forthcoming to impacted residents.

Each year the City prioritizes resurfacing of City streets. In 2025, funds were utilized to resurface the Metra Station Parking Lot.

In 2025, the City of Wood Dale will be working with contractors to evaluate and potentially repair aging sewer pipes throughout your area. As sewers age, cracks and breaches can develop, so it is imperative that these are addressed to prevent water from leaking. Damaged sewer pipes can overflow and sewage can leak into the natural environment.

The first stage of the project consists of inspecting sewers to identify structural deficiencies and sources of inflow and infiltration. This stage includes performing smoke testing, manhole inspections and mapping. Then, over the next few years the city will rehabilitate the damaged lines.  Click here for more.

Street rejuvenation focuses on suspending the current age of paved surfaces. Ideal roads for treatment include roads that have been paved within the past five years. By applying a rejuvenation product to surfaces, aging can be delayed 5-7 years, reducing wear and surface cracking, sealing out moisture, and preventing oxidation.

In 2025, Midwest Fiber Networks (MWFN) will be conducting underground fiber construction in the City of Wood Dale as part of a larger infrastructure project supporting business and institutional connectivity throughout the region.

Construction is expected to take place over approximately 100 days, with the start date pending final approvals from outside permitting agencies. The work area is highlighted on the map below, and activities will occur in phases throughout designated zones.

What to Expect

• Traffic Impact: Some areas may experience temporary lane closures or traffic pattern adjustments. Signage will be placed accordingly to ensure driver and worker safety.
• No Residential Disruption: All work will take place within utility easements or public right-of-way. No direct property access is needed, and residents do not need to be present or take any action.
• Restoration Commitment: Any areas disturbed during construction will be restored as work is completed.

Construction within the City of Wood Dale is limited to the following hours: 

Monday-Saturday, 7:00AM-7:00PM

No construction permitted on Sundays or Holidays
