AT&T will begin installing new aerial fiber optic cable lines throughout certain areas of Ward 4 with the goal of expanding their network. The project is tentatively scheduled to begin in early March 2026.   

What to Expect

• It will be necessary for AT&T to access certain private property rear easements to complete the work.  AT&T technicians will directly contact property owners to obtain access, if needed.
• Residents can expect to identify AT&T construction crews wearing branded vests and travel in branded AT&T vehicles.
• Residents should expect to see construction materials such as fiber cable reels placed in the City’s right of way.  
• Construction will be ongoing for approximately 4 weeks, weather permitting (excluding holidays).
• Please make sure your pets are securely confined.
• With the work being aerial, minor restorations and/or areas disturbed during construction will be restored as work is completed. 

Due to the location and nature of the work, alterations to traffic patterns and disruptions may occur.   Please see the back of this notice for a general overview of the work location.

COMED Upcoming Construction in Ward 1– Underground Cable Replacement

On behalf of COMED, INTREN will be replacing Underground Residential Distribution (URD) Cables within the City of Wood Dale.  This work will modernize the electric system and help reduce power outages in your neighborhood. 

The project is tentatively scheduled to begin on December 2, 2025.  INTREN will distribute door notices 48 hours prior to the scheduled work.

What to Expect:

• It will be necessary for COMED/INTREN to access your property to complete this work.
• This construction will be ongoing through June 2026, weather permitting (excluding holidays).
• Please make sure your pets are securely confined.
• If you have underground utilities, landscape irrigation, or electronic dog fences installed on your property, please notify the construction team on site or contact our office at (630) 350-3530. 
• Any areas disturbed during construction will be restored as work is completed.   To ensure the best possible outcome, property restoration work will be performed as weather permits.

Midwest Fiber Networks (MWFN) will be conducting underground fiber construction in the City of Wood Dale.  This project is ongoing as part of a larger infrastructure project supporting business and institutional connectivity throughout the region.

The work area is highlighted on the map below, and activities will occur in phases throughout designated zones.

What to Expect

• Traffic Impact: Some areas may experience temporary lane closures or traffic pattern adjustments. Signage will be placed accordingly to ensure driver and worker safety.
• No Residential Disruption: All work will take place within utility easements or public right-of-way. No direct property access is needed, and residents do not need to be present or take any action.
• Restoration Commitment: Any areas disturbed during construction will be restored as work is completed and no later than Spring 2026 (weather permitting).
