Post Date:05/22/2020 10:03 AM
The City of Wood Dale has recently obtained federal funding for some of its upcoming Capital Improvement Projects that will save taxpayer dollars in the coming years and allow the City to reallocate its resources. The City received $626,438 for the upcoming Central Avenue resurfacing project, which was provided by the Surface Transportation Program, a federally funded program that can be used by municipalities to improve conditions on roads. Wood Dale will only be required to provide approximately $276,992 toward the project. Wood Dale was among other Illinois localities to be awarded a grant, and competes nationally to be considered for the funding. The $2.6 million Elizabeth Drive Bridge project at Salt Creek was also 80% funded through the STP program.
