Recent rains have resulted in saturated soil conditions and Salt Creek is already at flood stage.  DuPage Stormwater Management has been operating the flood control reservoir and it is already holding a significant amount of water.

The forecast for this afternoon calls for the potential of up to 3 or more inches of rain in a short period of time.  This will likely result in flash flooding, street flooding, and continued rise in Salt Creek.  The City is urging residents to take proactive measures to prepare for this event. As always, we urge you to use extreme caution around flooded streets and standing water. Do not wade through high waters and do not drive through flooded streets. Always use alternate routes.

Sandbags for residents are already pre-staged at the normal locations near Salt Creek.  In addition, sandbags are being deployed to additional locations that have been identified in the past where flooding occurs.
