Sand Bags
Sand bags are available 24 hrs a day 7 days a week at Public Works 720 N. Central (corner of Central and Bienoris near the north overhead door to Public Works).
Bulk sand bag delivery
Staging point for bulk sand bag placement has been identified at the following three locations when creek elevation reaches 675.0:
136 Forestview - On the Carter Parkway
Across the street from 232 Forestview (on East side of Road)
Potter Street – between Edgebrook and Oakwood
408 Grove Street
For areas outside the Salt Creek flooding area, sandbags will be distributed upon receipt of a Flash Flood Warning by DuPage County. The Locations of those sandbags are as follows:
Dead End on South Cedar
S Cedar and Spring Oaks
Just north of Deerpath and S Central
George and Prospect
Potter St Pumping Station
Prospect and Sarah
When the storm has subsided and the sand bags are no longer needed, residents are asked to return the sand bags to the area in which they took the sand bags. Public Works staff will allow 14 days for residents to return the sand bags to the proper location. At that time, the bags will be returned to the Public Works facility. Any bags not returned to designated locations, will not be picked up by Public Works staff. In this case, residents will have to make provisions to store or dispose of the sand bags. Public Works staff will not enter private property to handle any sand bags.
